Curiosity Hub is a not-for-profit educational
organisation based in Brighton & Hove, Sussex, UK, offering creative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) enrichment workshops for all ages.
Since 2014, we’ve been encouraging children away from being just consumers of technology and instead to become explorers and creators of their own world. We firmly believe that the Arts are not separate to STEM and we embrace imagination, creativity, design and the fun of making stuff in all our activities!
We are strongly committed to supporting initiatives that advocate for under-represented communities in STEAM and we work hard to make our workshops welcoming and inclusive to all.
We aim to create a welcoming, happy and safe environment for all.
We think every idea matters and there is no 'wrong' way to do
something (though there may be room for improvement!). Failure is just as important as
success - it’s how we learn to make things better.
We encourage self-directed learning. An educator should be a
supportive ‘guide on the side’, not a lecturing ‘sage on the stage’.
We believe there is no such thing as a silly question and that it’s ok not to know the answer - let’s figure it out together!
We understand that every student has a different way of learning best. We aim to engage all the senses through visual, audio and kinaesthetic experiences. And we have fun while doing so!
All Curiosity Hub leaders hold DBS certificates. Jacqueline Currie trading as Curiosity Hub holds full public liability insurance.
Do you have a passion for STEAM education? We're
always looking for volunteers to help out at our events and workshops, and for people who can share
their experience of working in STEAM and be role models for our students.
If you have a background in a STEAM subject, and/or experience working with children (over 18's must have the ability to obtain a DBS certificate), then we'd love to hear from you!
