A brand new STEAM festival for the local area, requiring collaboration with multiple stakeholders to create a free public event attracting 1200 visitors.
Founding Trustee of the CIO producing and promoting such events, enabling diverse audiences across Sussex to participate in informal STEM learning.
Spring Forward Festival
Mother & Daughter Creative Tech Workshops
A unique annual event created for the festival celebrating Women in Digital Culture.

Girls and their mothers (or female adult mentors) take part in creative technology workshops including Minecraft EDU, Lego robotics and stop-motion animation.

Rocket Girls
Talks and workshops based current and future uses of robotics, plus advice on STEM/STEAM education and career paths.
Activities included space exploration challenges using Lego Mindstorms robotics kits, exploring computer programming and using the engineering cycle, showcasing students’ own creativity and problem-solving skills.

Discover DNA
Developed alongside cancer biologist Dr Katy Petherick, these workshops were aimed at students interested in biotechnology and biomedical engineering careers.

Students performed DNA extraction from fruit and learned about genetics, DNA structure and gel electrophoresis.
Brighton Digital Festival
Music Makers
Winner of the Grassroots Award at Brighton Digital Festival.
Developed with music technologist Rosa Fox, these workshops provided young people with an introduction to Sonic Pi and digital music composition.

The resulting tracks were entered as part of students' national Arts Awards.
